On July 29th, 2025, the second phase of the 2025 China Table Tennis Super League regular season concluded with intense competition in the final five matches of both men's and women's team events.
In the men's division, Lin Shidong, the world number one, played a pivotal role for Huangshi Base as they secured victory. Shandong Weiqiao, however, suffered their first defeat with Liang Jingkun sidelined due to injury and Wang Chuqin struggling alone.
For the women's teams, Shandong Luneng dominated against Chengdu Gaoxin with a 3-0 victory, showcasing their strength despite the absence of key player Wang Manyu. Chen Xingting, Qian Tianyi, and Xu Yi formed a formidable trio that overwhelmed their opponents with three straight 3-0 wins.
In another thrilling match, Huangshi Huanxin faced Shanghai Longteng in a close encounter that ended 2-3. After Shanghai Longteng took the first two sets, Huangshi Huanxin managed to level the score, only to falter in the decisive set where Han Feier succumbed to the pressure and lost 0-3 to Shanghai Longteng's He Zhuojia, resulting in a narrow 2-3 defeat.
Moving to the men's competition, Shandong Luneng showed resilience in a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Sichuan Fenggu, with all three sets going the full five games.
In the final highlight match between Huangshi Huanxin and Shandong Weiqiao, Huangshi Huanxin emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline. Shandong Weiqiao, significantly reshuffled due to injuries, fielded Wang Chuqin, Huang Youzheng, and Zhou Qihao, with Wang Chuqin taking on the third singles match.
The first set saw Xue Fei and Xiang Peng narrowly defeat Zhou Qihao and Wang Chuqin 3-2. In the second set, world number one Lin Shidong also won a tight contest against Huang Youzheng, giving Huangshi Huanxin a 2-0 lead. Despite Wang Chuqin's efforts in the third set with a 3-0 victory over Xiang Peng, Lin Shidong returned in the fourth set to seal the overall victory for Huangshi Huanxin with a 3-1 win over Zhou Qihao. Lin Shidong's exceptional performance earned Huangshi Huanxin two crucial points, while Wang Chuqin struggled under pressure, resulting in Shandong Weiqiao's first loss.
Despite the defeat, Wang Chuqin congratulated Lin Shidong immediately after the match, warmly patting his teammate on the head, highlighting their friendly relationship.
